Biography

Formed part way through 2013, For Astronauts and Satellites combine the old, nostalgic sounds from their past with post rock sensibilities and visceral British rock. Citing bands such as Reuben, 65daysofstatic, Starscream and Explosions in the Sky amongst their mutual influences, Ian Squibb, Matt Squibb and Mike Pittman create expansive and at times beautifully aggressive post rock soundscapes that breathe life into their old Nintendo handhelds and Commodore 64 computers.

Ian and Matt Squibb have been playing in bands together since 2002. In 2006, the two brothers met Mike and have been playing in a band together ever since.

2014 saw the release of their first self titled ablum, as well as a three track EP "A Homing Light" released on 26th December. 2015 launched the trio out to their first international show in January, playing the main stage at MAGFest13. 2015 also saw the release of their second full length studio album "Then, By The Light Of Our Own Creation", as well as a slot at the UK Chiptune Festival "SuperByte" in Manchester.

2016 sees the band return to writing, with a number of projects including 2 short film soundtracks and a new EP, which is set for release later this year.
